Axis Simulator Gains FAA Level D Approval

Orlando, October 15, 2015  Axis Flight Training Systems, an Austrian developer and manufacturer of full flight simulators, has received FAA Level D approval for its XLS full flight simulator. The simulator will be used by training operator SimCom.

This represents a major step forward for Axis. The company’s installed base was formerly focused on Austria, but Axis set its sights on international markets. The first non-domestic installation was earlier this year in Italy, and now the up-and-coming company has successfully entered the highly competitive, very demanding American market.

“FAA approval is the gold standard in this business. It is a source of great satisfaction to us to get this official confirmation that we can play in the big leagues,” noted Axis CEO Martin Rossmann .

Eric Hinson, CEO of SimCom, said, “SIMCOM is pleased to offer Citation Excel and XLS training using our new state-of-the-art full flight Citation XLS simulator from AXIS. To establish a new benchmark for Citation pilot training, we were looking for industry leading technology, outstanding reliability, and the most realistic operating environment. AXIS was the clear choice.”

Axis full flight simulators deploy a range of innovative technologies designed to make flight training more effective with lower downtime, making them very desirable for training operators. For Axis, this FAA approval opens the doors to the US market, and the company looks forward to redoubling its efforts in America.
