Zurich, Switzerland – 30 November, 2017: AXIS Flight Training Systems, the independent flight simulator manufacturer, is announcing plans to make a significant impact on the simulator market from 2018, with a new executive team reporting to Chairman and CEO Niall Olver.

Olver, who became a major shareholder in 2015 and has taken on the CEO role from AXIS’s founder, has appointed Jean-Luc Laydevant, Christian Theuermann and David Nolan to lead three distinct parts of the business. As the aviation sector is experiencing rapid growth, the company’s new structure will ensure it is primed for development.

Olver says: “With the industry currently facing a global pilot shortage, AXIS is ideally placed to help ATOs and airlines meet the demand, delivering cost-effective, world-class simulation. As an independent company we are able to listen closely to the market’s needs, responding quickly and crucially we do not compete with our customers. Under the direction of our newly appointed executive team, our engineers are ready to deliver the next steps for AXIS’ growth, including significant new product opportunities in the pipeline for 2018.”

Under the company’s new three-unit structure, AXIS Austria will be run by Theuermann, who will focus on the manufacturing and production of the company’s full flight simulators. Laydevant becomes managing director of AXIS Switzerland, responsible for all commercial operations. Nolan will be in charge of the financial arm of the business, AXIS Finance.

“AXIS is an extremely innovative company with a clear technological leadership position”, continues Olver. “Christian, Jean-Luc and David all bring a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to the team, and I am pleased to confirm that we will be able to pursue our growth strategy whilst continuing to provide our customers with the best possible service.”
