Flexible Training
For Multiple Aircraft
Maximum utilization
FLEXIBILITY BY DESIGN

AX-D Flex is a groundbreaking Roll-on/Roll-off (RO-RO) training solution by AXIS that redefines the landscape of flight simulation. Our innovative approach provides a cost-effective and flexible training solution that lets you train on multiple aircraft configurations with just one Mothership.

The heart of this patented development lies in the ability to use different aircraft cockpits with a single Mothership, switching them out as needed. This modular concept optimizes the use of existing infrastructure and reduces the need for multiple full flight simulators.

One Mothership can support up to three different cockpits—saving valuable floor space and lowering overall training system costs without compromising fidelity

How it works

The Roll-on/Roll-off simulator design has two main components:

The Mothership serves as the basic simulator structure, housing core components like motion and visual display systems, along with the non-simulated area (NSA) – a fixed section inside the Mothership. It includes a stationary forklift for effortless swap unit changes.

The Swap Unit comprises a cockpit module and a base frame with technical devices and computers. Each cockpit module is fully functional with its dedicated interface and electrical flight control system. This innovative approach allows one simulation bay to flexibly accommodate 2-3 aircraft types, making your training center more adaptable.

Benefits

Flexible Training

Supports multiple aircraft types on one Mothership, allowing operators to adjust training programs as needed.

Rapid Cockpit Swap

Rapid cockpit swap enables cost-efficient, multi-type training with minimal downtime and allows quick adaptation to shifting training needs and aircraft types.

Cost Efficiency

Train more, invest less—modular design turns one simulator into a multi-aircraft training powerhouse.

Full versatility
UNMATCHED ADVANTAGES

This AX-D Flex concept gives flight training centers unmatched flexibility. With high simulator utilization and reduced hardware overhead, operators, especially in business jet or corporate aviation, can meet diverse training demands without investing in multiple full simulators. How does this make it more versatile? Because with a separate Docking Station, they can still use the cockpit that is not in the Mothership for lower level training.

AXIS’s RO-RO simulator combines advanced engineering, modular architecture, and cockpit fidelity to deliver a powerful, future-ready training platform. Operators gain agility, trainees benefit from more available cockpits, and training centers achieve a higher return on investment.
