Used for more advanced scenarios like jet orientation and multi-crew cooperation, these devices are built for high specificity to aircraft type and operational detail.
The Flat Panel Trainer (AX-T) is a flexible and efficient platform for cockpit procedure and system training. This flight training device is most often used at the beginning of type rating to help trainees build a solid understanding of the aircraft’s systems and workflow in self-study mode. With no need for motion or large-scale visuals, it delivers maximum training impact within a compact footprint.
Despite its size, the FPT runs the complete aircraft simulation engine. This includes the full system logic, specific aerodynamic models, and accurate operational behavior, just like a Full Flight Simulator. All core components are functional, including displays and parts of the avionics, such as CDU, EFIS, PFD, ND and more. It’s not a full cockpit environment and does not provide near-full flight simulator level training, but it’s a very cost-effective way to prepare students before they move on to a full flight trainer.

Customizable and Scalable for Specific Needs
Each FPT is tailored to the customer’s needs. Physical panels are selected based on training goals, and modular configurations allow switching between aircraft types. The device includes a fully capable Instructor Operating Station (IOS), and training can be done either with an instructor or self-paced. It’s designed to integrate seamlessly into a wide range of training programs.
With collimated visuals, sound, and active forces, the Full Flight Trainer replicates the cockpit environment to near full-simulator level – excluding takeoff and landing capability.
KEY FEATURES
-
Complete Aircraft Simulation
- Runs the full simulation engine with all systems and models identical to those in a Full Flight Simulator.
-
Customizable Panel Layout
- Physical panel configuration is defined by the customer, allowing tailored training environments.
-
Instructor Operating Station
Includes a fully functional IOS with the same capabilities as in the FFS, enabling full control over training scenarios.
-
Supports Self-Paced Learning
- Enables trainees to rehearse procedures independently, without the need for constant instructor supervision.
-
Modular Multi-Type Capability
- In modular configurations, multiple aircraft types can be supported within one device.
-
Compact Setup
- Requires minimal space while still allowing full procedure and systems training.
-
System Integration and Procedure Familiarization
- Ideal for practicing system workflows and familiarizing crews with operator-specific procedures.
-
Instrument or Visual Training Options
- It can include displays or projection for the presentation of the environment from an image generator, though often used without it, for instrument training sessions.
-
Collaborative Crew Training
- Supports training for both PIC and PIM simultaneously in a shared cockpit environment.
